Effect AI

Effect AI — a reference card for a crypto project: what the product does and how verifiable the project’s key claims are; also — alignment with the Decentralized AI thesis (DecAI Fit).

Effect AI — a project in the AI/Other category on the Solana network, token (symbol: EFFECT).

Disclaimer

Important: this page is a reference overview of the project. Within DecAIHub, we separately record a verification based on open sources within the AI thesis (what is real AI/onchain/why a token, and which sources this is based on).
This is not financial advice and not a recommendation to buy/sell/hold any asset. We do not assess price, returns, or entry/exit timing.
Conclusions are based on publicly available materials found as of the verification date. The absence of confirmation does not imply the absence of the technology.

TL;DR (for readers who are not into AI)

  • What it is: a decentralized protocol for executing AI‑related tasks via a network of participants (people/models/compute) with onchain settlement.
  • Who it’s for: teams/developers who need a mechanism for ordering and executing tasks (including AI pipelines), and participants who perform tasks and receive rewards.
  • Why onchain/token: onchain is used for payments/staking and settlement; the token is used to pay for tasks and for incentives.
  • What you can actually touch (Tier‑1): Worker (tasks) — worker.effect.ai; Staking — staking.effect.ai.

How it works (very briefly)

  1. The provider (requester) creates a task: formulates the task and deposits the payment.
  2. The network distributes the execution: the protocol’s roles/nodes coordinate the assignment of executors.
  3. The executor (Worker) performs the work: a person/agent/model returns the result.
  4. Where the blockchain is: payments/staking/part of the settlement are moved to the settlement layer.
  5. Token role: payment for tasks, staking and incentives (per the project’s documentation).

General project overview

Effect AI describes itself as a decentralized protocol that brings together people, models and compute into a network of “capability‑driven” task execution. Per the whitepaper, the protocol is split into execution/application/settlement layers and relies on a set of roles (for example, Workers/Managers/Providers/Builders/Evaluators).

Within DecAIHub, the key question is how verifiable the claims are per Tier‑1. In this case there is a Tier‑1 whitepaper and public links to applications (for example, Worker and Staking), which makes it possible to confirm part of the functionality and the product “surface”.

Features/modules

  • Execution layer: p2p execution of tasks between participants (per the whitepaper).
  • Application layer: description of workflows as a DAG (per the whitepaper).
  • Settlement layer: onchain payments/staking/settlement (per the whitepaper).

Typical scenarios

  • Scenario 1: a requester publishes a task and pays for it → gets the result.
  • Scenario 2: an executor (Worker) performs tasks → receives a reward.
  • Scenario 3: a participant stakes the token → participates in the protocol’s incentives (per the whitepaper/the Staking application).

Getting started (wallet/network)

  • What you need: a Solana wallet and access to the project’s applications/website.
  • Network/chain: Solana.
  • Fees: Solana network fees + the application’s fees/rules (if applicable).

Architecture/tech (non‑AI)

  • Components: a p2p execution layer + an application layer (workflow/DAG) + a settlement layer with smart contracts.
  • Participant roles: Workers, Managers, Providers, Builders, Evaluators (per the whitepaper).
  • Where logic runs: task execution — offchain/p2p; payments/staking/part of the settlement — onchain.
  • Dependencies: — (the implementation and dependency details require a separate review of the code/docs).

Token/economics (expanded, no forecasts)

  • Token utility: payment for tasks, staking and network incentives (per the whitepaper).
  • Protocol necessity drivers: the token is used as the base unit for settlements and participation in the network’s mechanisms (per the whitepaper).
  • Who pays fees: task requesters (Providers) and/or application users (per the application’s model).
  • Where fees go/distribution: the whitepaper describes a scheme for distributing the flows (for example, Workers/Managers/Builders/protocol/pools).
  • Issuance/burn: fixed supply of 520 000 000 EFFECT (per the docs); the onchain mint authority = null, i.e. no additional issuance is possible (see Evidence).
  • EFX/NFX → EFFECT migration: EFFECT was created on 2025-01-01 as a consolidation of the deprecated EFX and NFX tokens; balance snapshot — 2025-01-01 12:00 UTC; conversion EFX → EFFECT 1:1, NFX → EFFECT 1:8; decimals 6 (per the docs, see Evidence).
  • Legacy EFX token (deprecated): contracts BSC 0xc51ef828319b131b595b7ec4b28210ecf4d05ad0 and EOS effecttokens; legacy listings — CoinMarketCap effect-ai (“Effect AI (old)”, EFX on EOS) and CoinGecko effect-network (“Effect AI” marked OLD, EFX on EOS and BSC). The current EFFECT listings are CoinMarketCap effect-ai-sol and CoinGecko effect-ai; the token’s onchain metadata names the same ones (see Evidence).
  • Security/incentive mechanisms: staking (present); the details of slashing/conditions require separate verification.
  • Distribution/vesting: —.
  • Treasury: —.

Governance

  • Who makes decisions: — (the whitepaper mentions governance functions of the token, but the governance model is not established per Tier‑1 sources).
  • How protocol parameters change: —.
  • Keys/multisig: —.

Security and incidents

  • Audits: not found per Tier‑1 sources.
  • Bug bounty: not found per Tier‑1 sources.
  • Incidents: —.
  • Threat model: p2p execution + onchain settlement imply risks of errors/abuse in the roles and in the smart contracts; an audit/disclosure and transparent procedures are needed.

Project status and timeline

  • Current status: mainnet (based on the presence of live applications and the token).
  • Key releases/milestones: 2025-01-01 — snapshot of EFX/NFX balances (12:00 UTC) and creation of the EFFECT token on Solana; 2025-01-05 — the Claim Portal for the EFX/NFX → EFFECT migration opened; 2025-01-10 — EFFECT became publicly tradable on Solana (see Evidence); other updates — in the project’s news (links_*).
  • Roadmap: see the project’s roadmap/posts (links_*).

Ecosystem/integrations

  • Integrations: the Worker/Staking/Migration applications (links_*).
  • Partners: —.
  • Where it’s actually used: at the level of the product “surface”, the project’s applications are available (links_*).

AI component of the project

  • What is real AI here? the protocol is focused on executing AI‑related tasks via a network of roles (Workers/Managers, etc.) and support for composable workflows (DAG).
  • What is truly onchain? the settlement layer is described as an onchain framework for payments/staking/disputes; there is also an onchain token on the Solana network.
  • Why is a token needed? in the whitepaper, the token is described as the utility mechanism for paying for tasks, staking and incentives.
  • Red flags (based on the information found): the absence of public audits/bug bounty per Tier‑1 sources; part of the claims require verification against the code and the settlement‑layer contracts.

  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://effect.ai/whitepaper.pdf
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): There is a description of onchain settlement, but the strict OC_3 test (criticality) requires separate verification/argumentation.
  • Conflict note (if any): —

Token necessity

TK_0 — no token (1/0)

  • TK_0 (decision): 0
  • Claim (one line): The project has a token, EFFECT, on the Solana network.
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://solscan.io/token/EFFECT1A1R3Dz8Hg4q5SXKjkiPc6KDRUWQ7Czjvy4H7E ; https://effect.ai/whitepaper.pdf

  • Conflict note (if any): —

TK_1..TK_4 (1/0)

TK_1 — payment for the service (1/0)

  • TK_1 (decision): 1
  • Claim (one line): EFFECT is used to pay for task execution in the network.
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://effect.ai/whitepaper.pdf
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): In the whitepaper, the token is described as the means of task payments/escrow: “Providers use EFFECT tokens to pay for task execution”.
  • Conflict note (if any): —

TK_2 — incentives/collateral/penalties (1/0)

  • TK_2 (decision): 1
  • Claim (one line): Staking of EFFECT is used as a mechanism of participation/security and incentives.
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://effect.ai/whitepaper.pdf ; https://staking.effect.ai
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): The whitepaper describes staking; the existence of the staking application confirms the practical implementation.
  • Conflict note (if any): —

TK_3 — governance (1/0)

  • TK_3 (decision): 1
  • Claim (one line): EFFECT is described as the utility/governance backbone of the network.
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://effect.ai/whitepaper.pdf
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): The whitepaper explicitly states the governance functions of the token: “utility and governance backbone of the network”; section 3.4 describes governance of the protocol via a DAO.
  • Conflict note (if any): —

TK_4 — token is replaceable (1/0)

  • TK_4 (decision): 0
  • Claim (one line): Tasks can also be paid in other DAO‑approved tokens (for example, USDC), but only after the Builder stakes EFFECT (whitepaper Draft v0.1, §3.1.4).
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://effect.ai/whitepaper.pdf
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): The payment role is partly replaceable, but EFFECT remains mandatory: staking acts as a “routing license” for the multi‑token mode, plus role staking and governance — the token as a whole cannot be replaced without loss of meaning, so 0 (checked 2026-09-25).
  • Conflict note (if any): —
