AdEx AURA (AdEx Network)

AdEx AURA (AdEx Network) — a reference card for a crypto project: what the product does and how verifiable the project’s key claims are; also — alignment with the Decentralized AI thesis (DecAI Fit).

AdEx AURA (AdEx Network) — an AI/Agents | DeFi project: an AI agent/framework for DeFi strategy recommendations based on onchain activity; token (symbol: ADX) on Ethereum.

Disclaimer

Important: this page is a reference overview of the project. Within DecAIHub, we separately record a verification based on open sources within the AI thesis (what is real AI/onchain/why a token, and which sources this is based on).
This is not financial advice and not a recommendation to buy/sell/hold any asset. We do not assess price, returns, or entry/exit timing.
Conclusions are based on publicly available materials found as of the verification date. The absence of confirmation does not imply the absence of the technology.

TL;DR (for readers who are not into AI)

  • What it is: a web application and open‑source stack that analyzes EVM wallet activity and suggests DeFi strategies/opportunities (including airdrops/farming/staking), with a focus on security (whitelist apps).
  • Who it’s for: regular DeFi users/investors and wallets that want to embed recommendations.
  • Why onchain/token: onchain is needed as a data source and the execution environment for DeFi strategies; ADX is used for staking/access to premium features and governance.
  • What you can actually touch (Tier‑1): the beta UI app.adex.network and the repository (see links_* → App / Demo and links_* → GitHub).

How it works (very briefly)

  1. The user does: enters an EVM wallet address / connects a wallet in the UI.
  2. The system does: pulls balances and onchain activity history + external catalogs/data; runs them through an LLM and ranks strategies; filters the results with “security processing” against a whitelist of trusted applications.
  3. The user gets: a list of personalized recommendations/strategies and (per the roadmap) instructions/transactions for execution.
  4. Where the blockchain is: data sources (balances/transactions), as well as the intended execution of strategies in DeFi protocols on EVM networks.
  5. Token role (if any): ADX is used in staking: it boosts recommendations/serves as a security guarantee/unlocks premium features; it is also used for governance (Snapshot).

General project overview

AdEx AURA is a product add‑on (web application + open‑source stack) on top of Web3: the user specifies an EVM wallet address, and the system analyzes its onchain activity (balances, transactions, dApp interactions) and suggests DeFi strategies/opportunities taking the risk profile into account.

The key “AI element” is the use of an LLM to generate and rank recommendations, as well as a “security processing” layer that filters/validates the suggested actions against a whitelist of trusted applications. The roadmap claims a transition from advice to a more autonomous agent that will be able to execute actions (account abstraction / “coming … via EIP‑7702” — as claimed on the landing page).

Features/modules

  • Recommendation engine: personal DeFi strategies and “opportunity discovery” based on onchain activity.
  • LLM processing: data processing via a Large Language Model + (in the blog) “thousands of simulations” for a strategy.
  • Security processing: checking LLM outputs against a whitelist of trusted applications.
  • Roadmap to an agent: a gradual transition from text → “actionable” instructions/transactions → an autonomous agent.
  • Dev integrations: an open‑source repository (fetcher + LLM integrations + prompt generator) and security advisories on GitHub.

Typical scenarios

  • Scenario 1 (portfolio screening): enters an address → receives a list of strategies (lending/staking/bridging/airdrop farming) with different risk levels.
  • Scenario 2 (airdrop search): based on the wallet’s past actions, receives hints about “double‑dip” opportunities and potential airdrops.
  • Scenario 3 (built‑in wallet module): a wallet/application shows recommendations directly in its UI and guides the user through the execution steps.

Getting started (wallet/network)

  • What you need: an EVM wallet address (for analysis) and/or a wallet connection in the web UI; for additional features — ADX staking.
  • Network/chain: the recommendations target EVM networks (Ethereum and L2); the ADX token is an ERC‑20 on Ethereum.
  • Fees: fees arise when DeFi strategies are actually executed onchain (gas, protocol fees); a fee for using the UI/analysis is not explicitly described in the Tier‑1 sources.

Architecture/tech (non‑AI)

  • Components: web UI; backend/services that pull public account data; an LLM layer; security processing with a whitelist of applications.
  • Participant roles: users; integrators (wallets/applications); ADX holders/stakers.
  • Where logic runs: analysis and recommendation generation — offchain; strategy execution (if/when executed) — onchain in the respective DeFi protocols.
  • Dependencies: public RPCs/indexers for reading onchain data; external catalogs/sources of opportunities; LLM provider(s).

Token/economics (expanded, no forecasts)

  • Token utility: ADX is the ecosystem’s ERC‑20 token (staking, governance, access to premium features; for AURA — “boost recommendations / security guarantee / higher limits” per the website).
  • Protocol necessity drivers: basic analysis/recommendations as a product are potentially possible without a token; the token is used for staking/gating features.
  • Who pays fees: the user pays gas and protocol fees when executing strategies onchain.
  • Where fees go: the Tier‑1 sources do not describe the distribution of AURA revenue/fees via ADX.
  • Issuance/burn: Etherscan shows the max total supply and burn events; the contract contains a supplyController and a mint function (controller).
  • Security/incentive mechanisms: ADX staking as an incentive/gating; the specific rules — on the staking portal (link in links).
  • Distribution and token issuance schedule: the Tier‑1 token page states that the tokens are “fully distributed”.
  • Treasury: governance votes are listed on Snapshot (adex.eth); the onchain treasury/addresses were not examined within this card.

Governance

  • Who makes decisions: it is claimed that staked ADX holders participate in governance voting.
  • How protocol parameters change: via governance procedures; the details depend on the specific module (AURA/staking) and are not fully described in a single Tier‑1 document.
  • Where decisions are discussed/made: the Snapshot space adex.eth is listed on the website.
  • Keys/multisig: the token is managed via a supplyController; AURA’s offchain services are administered by the team/operators (the details are not publicly disclosed).

Security and incidents

  • Audits: the token page on Etherscan lists a Certik audit report (link in Audit report(s)).
  • Bug bounty: not listed in the Tier‑1 links of AURA/AdEx.
  • Incidents: no information found.
  • Threat model: “AI advisor” risks — LLM quality/errors and the safety of the recommended actions; the project claims a whitelist filter and security processing, but verifiable criteria/metrics are not provided.

Project status and timeline

  • Current status: AURA is positioned as a beta/early product; the plan for 2025 — V1 (prototype) → V2 (real‑time) → V3 (autonomous agent).
  • Key releases/milestones: the roadmap post (Jan 2025) + the open‑source repository with releases.
  • Roadmap: https://www.adex.network/blog/adex-aura-2025-roadmap/

Ecosystem/integrations

  • Integrations: EVM networks (Ethereum/L2) as a data source and execution environment; potential wallet integrations (use‑case in the README).
  • Partners: not listed in the Tier‑1 sources as a confirmed list.
  • Where it’s actually used: the public web UI + the open‑source repository; production integrations require additional artifacts (API/SDK), which were not verified within this card.

AI component of the project

  • What is real AI here? an LLM layer that processes onchain data and generates/ranks strategies; “simulations” and recommendation logic are claimed.
  • What is truly onchain? the ADX token (ERC‑20) and the EVM DeFi ecosystem from which data is taken and where strategies are executed.
  • Why is a token needed? ADX staking is claimed as an access/premium‑limits mechanism and as a security guarantee, as well as governance (Snapshot).
  • Red flags (based on the information found):
    • AI‑washing: no quality/accuracy metrics for recommendations and no formalized evaluation methodology.
    • Onchain‑washing: the product is mostly offchain; onchain is primarily a data source and the token.
    • Token‑washing: the utility is tied to “premium features/boost”, but the base product is conceptually possible without a token.
    • What to double‑check: the availability/content of the Notion document (the “vision” link is often unavailable), the current functionality of the beta UI and the exact mechanics of the whitelist/security processing.

Onchain necessity

OC_1 — contracts/addresses/chain (1/0)

  • OC_1 (decision): 1
  • Chain: Ethereum
  • Addresses/identifiers: ADX token: 0xade00c28244d5ce17d72e40330b1c318cd12b7c3
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://etherscan.io/token/0xade00c28244d5ce17d72e40330b1c318cd12b7c3

  • Conflict note (if any): —

OC_2 — onchain beyond just a token (1/0)

  • OC_2 (decision): 0
  • What useful logic is onchain: — (apart from the token and general DeFi interactions, no specific onchain AURA modules are presented as a separate protocol).
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — —

  • Conflict note (if any): —

OC_3 — onchain is critical (1/0)

  • OC_3 (decision): 0
  • “Replace the blockchain” test: AURA could exist as a fintech recommender without a blockchain as well (on other data); onchain here is the domain/data source, but not a proven “critical” protocol layer of AURA.
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://github.com/AmbireTech/aura
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): There is no proof that the AURA product itself breaks without a blockchain (as opposed to the execution of DeFi strategies).
  • Conflict note (if any): —

Token necessity

  • Conflict note (if any): —

TK_1..TK_4 (1/0)

TK_1 — payment for the service (1/0)

  • TK_1 (decision): 0
  • Claim (one line): Payment in ADX for AURA’s basic functions is not confirmed by the Tier‑1 sources.
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://www.adex.network/
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): The Token Utility describes staking/premium, but not a “payment for the service”.
  • Conflict note (if any): —

TK_2 — incentives/collateral/penalties (1/0)

  • TK_2 (decision): 1
  • Claim (one line): ADX staking is claimed as a security guarantee and a mechanism for boosting recommendations/limits.
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://www.adex.network/adx-token/
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): Tier‑1 describes that staked ADX “serves as a security guarantee” and affects recommendations/premium.
  • Conflict note (if any): —

TK_3 — governance (1/0)

  • TK_3 (decision): 1
  • Claim (one line): staked ADX holders participate in governance voting (Snapshot).
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://www.adex.network/adx-token/
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): The token page explicitly mentions governance and a link to Snapshot.
  • Conflict note (if any): The Snapshot URL does not open to the space (redirects/anti-bot are possible), manual verification is required.

TK_4 — token is replaceable (1/0)

  • TK_4 (decision): 1
  • Claim (one line): Access to premium/boost and governance can be implemented without a separate token (subscription/role/another asset) without breaking the core function (AI recommendations).
  • Evidence: Tier‑1 — https://www.adex.network/adx-token/ , https://github.com/AmbireTech/aura
  • Why sufficient / why not (one line): There is no sign in Tier‑1 that “the protocol does not work without the token”; the utility is an add‑on.
  • Conflict note (if any): —
