Link Machine Learning
Link Machine Learning — a reference card for a crypto project: what the product does and how verifiable the project’s key claims are; also — alignment with the Decentralized AI thesis (DecAI Fit).
Link Machine Learning — an AI/Other project (AI/ML intent; a former project of the GNY team, folded into GNY in 2023) on the Ethereum network, token (symbol: LML).
Disclaimer
Important: this page is a reference overview of the project. Within DecAIHub, we separately record a verification based on open sources within the AI thesis (what is real AI/onchain/why a token, and which sources this is based on).
This is not financial advice and not a recommendation to buy/sell/hold any asset. We do not assess price, returns, or entry/exit timing.
Conclusions are based on publicly available materials found as of the verification date. The absence of confirmation does not imply the absence of the technology.
TL;DR (for readers who are not into AI)
- What it is: a project of the GNY team (since 2018, originally “Lisk Machine Learning”), conceived as a set of tools around data/ML in the GNY ecosystem; no working LML product was found.
- Who it’s for: LML token holders and the GNY community; the claimed ML tools and game mechanics remained at the announcement stage.
- Why onchain/token: no clear description of token necessity at the protocol level was found per Tier‑1; the onchain fact of the existence of the ERC‑20 contract is confirmed.
- Status: merged into GNY — in 2023, LML was folded into GNY via a token swap, and LML is no longer supported; the current card is GNY.
How it works (very briefly)
- The user participates/interacts: per Tier‑1, “Man Vs Machina” is only an announcement of a game for data/prediction collection; no launched game was found.
- The system aggregates data: by design, collective forecasts were to become datapoints for ecosystem tools/models; no working implementation was found.
- The user gets: participation in the “human vs ML” comparison and prizes/a social layer were claimed; no confirmation of a launch was found.
- Where the blockchain is: within this card, the LML ERC‑20 contract is confirmed (an onchain artifact); no working LML chain was found.
- Token role: not established per Tier‑1; in 2023, LML was swapped for GNY (see “Token/economics”).

General project overview
LML was started in 2018 by the GNY team as “Lisk Machine Learning” — a project of ML tools for Lisk developers, conceived as a Lisk sidechain; LML tokens were distributed 1:1 to GNY ICO participants who paid with LSK. The official page (2020): “GNY and LML are both standalone projects, but intertwined in development”. By 2022-04-26, the project was called “Link Machine Learning” (GNYLabs blog on Medium). On the project’s Tier‑1 page, LML is described as a “sister project” in the GNY ecosystem: it was conceived as a set of tools for secure data collection/transformation/sharing and as a vehicle for “wisdom of the crowd” (WOTC) tools. The “Man Vs Machina” game, where users compete with an ML engine and their forecasts become datapoints, was only announced (gny.io article of 2023-03-06); no launched LML game or product was found.
However, no Tier‑1 document was found that unambiguously links the ERC‑20 contract from links_* to the described products/mechanics and explains token necessity at the protocol level. In 2023, LML was folded into GNY via a token swap (see “Project status and timeline”).
Features/modules
- WOTC mechanics (announcement): collecting forecasts from the “crowd” and comparing them with an ML engine; no working implementation was found.
- Man Vs Machina (announcement): a game as an interface for data collection and community engagement; no launched game was found.
Typical scenarios
- Scenario 1: by design, a user participates in WOTC mechanics → submits a forecast and compares the result with an ML prediction (per the announcement; a launch is not confirmed).
- Scenario 2: by design, data/signals are used as datapoints for ecosystem ML tools (per the announcement).
Getting started (wallet/network)
- What you need: not applicable: LML is no longer supported, and acceptance of LML into the swap for GNY ended on 2023-08-08.
- Network/chain: Ethereum (the LML ERC‑20 contract).
- Fees: Ethereum network fees for onchain operations.
Architecture/tech (non‑AI)
- Components: the ERC‑20 contract (given in links_*); no working LML chain (conceived as a Lisk sidechain) was found.
- Where logic runs: onchain — the token; the remaining logic of the products/game is not established per Tier‑1.
Token/economics (expanded, no forecasts)
- Token utility: not established per Tier‑1.
- Protocol necessity drivers: not established per Tier‑1.
- Token history: the LML ERC‑20 contract was created on 2018-10-22, max total supply 400 000 000 LML; LML tokens were distributed 1:1 to GNY ICO participants who paid with LSK; per the 2020 official page, the ERC‑20 token was planned to be swapped for a Lisk sidechain token.
- Swap and burn (2023): all circulating LML was swapped for GNY: 16.5 LML per 1 GNY (ERC‑20) or 14.875 LML per 1 GNY (BEP‑20), with a 10% bonus in the first 4 weeks; window 2023-05-30 — 2023-08-08; a burn of the 200 000 000 LML treasury at the end of the swap was announced; “LML will no longer be supported”.
Governance
- Who makes decisions: not established.
Security and incidents
- Audits: not found in Tier‑1 sources.
- Bug bounty: not found in Tier‑1 sources.
Project status and timeline
- Current status: merged into GNY: in 2023, LML was folded into GNY via a token swap, and LML is no longer supported; the current card is GNY.
- Key releases/milestones:
- 2018: launch as “Lisk Machine Learning”; the LML ERC‑20 contract was created on 2018-10-22.
- 2020: the official page — “GNY and LML are both standalone projects, but intertwined in development”.
- 2022: by 2022-04-26, the project is called “Link Machine Learning” (GNYLabs blog on Medium).
- 2023: announcement of the Man Vs Machina game (gny.io article of 2023-03-06); no launch was found.
- 2023: swap of LML for GNY, window 2023-05-30 — 2023-08-08 (press release of 2023-05-30: “The LML Project is Being Folded Into GNY”).
- Roadmap: per the 2023 statement, all the planned LML projects will be executed on the GNY chain.
Ecosystem/integrations
- Ecosystem: described as a related project in the GNY ecosystem; folded into GNY in 2023.
AI component of the project
- What is real AI here? The Tier‑1 description points to an ML engine/neural networks and AI forecasts within the GNY ecosystem and the LML concept; the Man Vs Machina game was only announced, and no working LML AI product was found.
- What is truly onchain? The ERC‑20 token (the contract is given in links_*).
- Why is a token needed? No Tier‑1 source on token necessity for key features was found.
- Red flags (based on the information found): there is no Tier‑1 document that unambiguously links the token contract from links_* to the described products/mechanics; the role of the token at the protocol level is not established; in 2023, the project was folded into GNY, and LML is no longer supported.
