Apeiron

Apeiron — a reference card for a crypto project: what the product does and how verifiable the project’s key claims are; also — alignment with the Decentralized AI thesis (DecAI Fit).

Apeiron (also: ApeironNFT) — a web3 game with onchain assets (NFTs) and the APRS token (ERC‑20; Ethereum).

Disclaimer

Important: this page is a reference overview of the project. Within DecAIHub, we separately record a verification based on open sources within the AI thesis (what is real AI/onchain/why a token, and which sources this is based on).
This is not financial advice and not a recommendation to buy/sell/hold any asset. We do not assess price, returns, or entry/exit timing.
Conclusions are based on publicly available materials found as of the verification date. The absence of confirmation does not imply the absence of the technology.

TL;DR (for readers who are not into AI)

  • What it is: a “god game” genre game with PvE/PvP game modes and an economy around NFTs and tokens (as described in the whitepaper).
  • Who it’s for: players who want to play and interact with onchain assets (NFTs) within the game ecosystem.
  • Why onchain/token: the whitepaper describes onchain logic for game assets (NFTs) and a token economy; at the same time, most of the game logic is planned/described as offchain (centralized servers).

How it works (very briefly)

  1. The user does: plays (PvE dungeons / PvP modes), interacts with game assets.
  2. The system does: processes the main gameplay and anti‑cheat validation on servers; moves part of the asset logic onchain (per the whitepaper).
  3. The user gets: game progress and access to the ecosystem’s NFT/token mechanics.
  4. Where the blockchain is: the onchain part is described as “assets‑related logic”: Planet/Apostle/Relic/Star NFTs, generation/transformations of NFT assets, token earnings/usage and part of the rewards/treasury.
  5. Token role: the whitepaper describes several tokens; for APRS, the functions of NFT creation, premium currency, staking and a governance context are specified.

General project overview

The Apeiron whitepaper describes a game inspired by “god games”, with PvE (dungeons) and PvP modes. The document separately describes the NFT assets and tokens (APRS/ANIMA, etc.) and which parts of the system remain on centralized servers and which are moved to the blockchain (assets, part of the rewards and token mechanics).

Features/modules

  • Game modes: PvE dungeons and PvP modes (per the whitepaper).
  • NFT assets: Planet/Apostle/Relic/Star NFTs and the related generation/transformation mechanics (per the whitepaper).
  • Ecosystem tokens: Apeiros/APRS and other tokens described in the Tokens/Gamenomics section (per the whitepaper).

Typical scenarios

  • Scenario 1: a player completes PvE content → interacts with NFT assets → uses tokens within the game mechanics (as described in the gamenomics).
  • Scenario 2: a player participates in PvP/the arena → gets progress/rewards → uses the marketplace/NFT assets.

Getting started (wallet/network)

  • What you need: the game client/an account; to work with onchain assets — a web3 wallet.
  • Network/chain: the whitepaper describes the use of an L2 (including the migration to Ronin in Q4 2023) and onchain asset logic; this card also lists the APRS ERC‑20 contract on Ethereum (see Explorer).
  • Fees: depend on the networks and operations (NFT/token transactions).

Architecture/tech (non‑AI)

  • Components: the game client (Unity), offchain servers for gameplay and indexing, an onchain layer for assets/NFTs and token mechanics (per the whitepaper).
  • Where logic runs: the whitepaper explicitly says “mix of centralized servers with blockchain”: most of the game logic — on servers; “assets‑related logic” — onchain.

Token/economics (expanded, no forecasts)

  • Tokens: the whitepaper describes Apeiros/APRS, Anima/ANIMA and the future RNGU (Ringularity), as well as “in‑game” versions of the tokens (non‑tradable) to comply with marketplace restrictions.
  • Relationship between tokens and NFTs: the gamenomics describes the mint/breed/earn cycle and the use of tokens to create/breed/interact with NFT assets.
  • Staking/pools: in Tokens, staking reward pools are mentioned for APRS/ANIMA.

Governance

  • DAO (as claimed): the whitepaper describes voting via a DAO, where token owners can vote on “Galaxy Progression” issues, game operations, etc.; it is mentioned that the implementation may be via third‑party tools (for example, Snapshot).

Security and incidents

Project status and timeline

  • Current status: active (based on the presence of the website/whitepaper/social media and the onchain token contract).
  • Roadmap: see the Development Milestones & Timeline section in the whitepaper.

Ecosystem/integrations

  • Integrations: the whitepaper mentions an L2 tech stack for game assets (including Ronin); integration details (wallets/bridges) are not recorded per Tier‑1.

AI component of the project

  • What is real AI here? No claims of a built‑in AI component were found in the Tier‑1 whitepaper/official materials.
  • What is truly onchain? NFT assets and part of the “assets‑related logic” are described as onchain; the APRS token has an ERC‑20 contract on Ethereum.
  • Why is a token needed? The whitepaper describes APRS as the ecosystem token with the functions of NFT creation/premium currency/staking and a governance context; ANIMA and the future RNGU are also described.
  • Red flags (based on the information found): AI‑irrelevant (the project is not about AI); onchain is used for assets, but most of the gameplay is described as offchain (this is important to consider when interpreting “decentralization”).

Onchain necessity

OC_1 — contracts/addresses/chain (1/0)

  • OC_1 (decision): 1
  • Chain: Ethereum

OC_2 — onchain beyond just a token (1/0)

  • OC_2 (decision): 1
  • What useful logic is onchain: the whitepaper claims that “assets‑related logic” will be onchain (NFT assets and related operations/rewards/treasury).
