Measurable Data Token

Measurable Data Token (MDT) — a reference card for a crypto project: what the product does and how verifiable the project’s key claims are; also — alignment with the Decentralized AI thesis (DecAI Fit).

Measurable Data Token (MDT) — an AI/Data | Infra project that builds an economy for exchanging “anonymous measurable data” between users, data providers and data buyers, with settlements via smart contracts. Token: MDT (ERC‑20; the website also publishes bridged/mirror contracts on other networks).

Disclaimer

Important: this page is a reference overview of the project. Within DecAIHub, we separately record a verification based on open sources within the AI thesis (what is real AI/onchain/why a token, and which sources this is based on).
This is not financial advice and not a recommendation to buy/sell/hold any asset. We do not assess price, returns, or entry/exit timing.
Conclusions are based on publicly available materials found as of the verification date. The absence of confirmation does not imply the absence of the technology.

TL;DR (for readers who are not into AI)

  • What it is: a “data market” and token economy so that users are rewarded for providing data, and buyers pay for access to insights/datasets.
  • Who it’s for: users (the data source), data providers (apps/services) and data buyers (business/analytics).
  • Why onchain/token: smart contracts record settlements and deal terms; MDT is used for payments and rewards.

How it works (very briefly)

  1. The user does: agrees to share anonymous data via a data provider (an app/service) and receives a reward.
  2. The system does: the data buyer pays for access; the platform constructs a smart contract with the deal terms and the reward share for users/the provider/the platform.
  3. The user gets: MDT payouts (a “deposit pool” scheme is possible for micro‑rewards until a threshold is reached).
  4. Where the blockchain is: MDT is a token on Ethereum; smart contracts are described as the enforcement and arbitration mechanism.
  5. Token role (if any): the unit of settlement for data and of rewards to users/providers.

General project overview

In its Tier‑1 whitepaper, MDT describes the problem of a “one‑sided” data market: users create data but receive no economic value, while data buyers risk getting low‑quality/illegal datasets. The solution is a “decentralized, transparent data exchange economy” based on Ethereum smart contracts, where:

  • Data providers (apps/services) collect and aggregate data.
  • Data buyers pay for access to data/reports/insights.
  • Users are rewarded in MDT for contributing anonymous “data points”.

In the “Updated Ecosystem Progress” section, the whitepaper claims that the “Measurable AI” (business‑oriented data analysis platform) and “MyMDT Data Wallet dApp” (2019) applications, which use MDT, have been launched in the ecosystem.

Features/modules

  • MDT smart‑contract settlements (concept): smart contracts for payment/terms/arbitration of data deals.
  • Reward deposit pool (concept): accumulation of micro‑rewards up to a threshold in order to save on fees.
  • MDT Wallet: a wallet for receiving/storing MDT (referred to as MyMDT in the whitepaper and on the website).
  • Measurable AI (product): an analytics platform that turns anonymous data into insights (mentioned in the whitepaper as launched in 2019).

Typical scenarios

  • Scenario 1 (user): connects to a service provider → agrees to share anonymous data → receives MDT rewards (including via the deposit pool).
  • Scenario 2 (data buyer): purchases access to data/a report → pays in MDT → gets access after the smart contract is executed.
  • Scenario 3 (data provider): integrates the SDK/platform → sells reports/insights → distributes part of the value to users.

Getting started (wallet/network)

  • What you need: an EVM wallet to work with MDT; to use the ecosystem applications — their own interfaces/accounts.
  • Network/chain: the main MDT contract is on Ethereum (marked as “Main Chain” on the token page).
  • Fees: Ethereum gas for MDT transfers and contract interactions (where applicable).

Architecture/tech (non‑AI)

  • Components: MDT (ERC‑20), deal/arbitration smart contracts (described in the whitepaper as part of the platform), the wallet dApp, data provider applications.
  • Participant roles: Users, Data Providers, Data Buyers, the Measurable Platform (as the arbitrator/contract constructor in the early phase).
  • Where logic runs: settlements/enforcement of terms — onchain via smart contracts; data collection/processing — offchain at the data providers.
  • Dependencies: the Ethereum network; data provider applications; offchain storage/analytics.

Token/economics (expanded, no forecasts)

  • Token utility: the unit of payment for data/insights and the unit of user rewards.
  • Protocol necessity drivers: deals and value distribution are denominated in MDT.
  • Who pays fees: data buyers pay MDT into smart contracts and Ethereum gas; users pay gas when withdrawing/transferring MDT.
  • Where fees go: the whitepaper describes a “calculation fee” share for the platform; the remainder is distributed to users and the data provider.
  • Issuance/burn: total supply 1B (token page); a burn model is not described.
  • Security/incentive mechanisms: reward mechanics for users; arbitration in case of a dispute over data validity (described as a platform function).
  • Distribution and token issuance schedule: the whitepaper describes the TDE distribution (team 240M, advisors 110M, user growth 150M, presale 150M, TDE 350M) and a 24‑month team vesting.
  • Treasury: in the whitepaper, the governance/development role is assigned to the Measurable Foundation.

Governance

  • Who makes decisions: Measurable Foundation (described in the whitepaper as the governance body at the early stage).
  • How protocol parameters change: —.
  • Where decisions are discussed/made: —.
  • Keys/multisig: —.

Security and incidents

  • Audits: —.
  • Bug bounty: —.
  • Incidents: —.
  • Threat model: privacy (anonymization/PII), “fake/invalid data” risks, arbitration risks and the centralization of the “platform” at the early stage.

Project status and timeline

  • Current status: active (the token and the website/whitepaper are available).
  • Key releases/milestones: the whitepaper is dated April 2020; the whitepaper lists the foundation’s UEN/registration date (2017‑10‑02).
  • Roadmap: —.

Ecosystem/integrations

  • Integrations: Ethereum (main chain), bridged versions on BNB Chain/Solana/Optimism/Base/Tron and others (the token page publishes the contracts).
  • Partners: —.
  • Where it’s actually used: Tier‑1 records ecosystem applications (MailTime/Measurable AI/MyMDT) in the whitepaper and on the website.

AI component of the project

  • What is real AI here? the whitepaper mentions the Measurable AI product (an analytics platform that “turns anonymous data into sophisticated insights”), but without technical details of models/metrics.
  • What is truly onchain? MDT as an ERC‑20 token and the smart‑contract model of deals/arbitration for data exchange (described in the whitepaper).
  • Why is a token needed? payments for data and rewards to users/providers in a single unit of account.
  • Red flags (based on the information found): AI‑washing (AI is mentioned minimally, without demos/metrics), onchain‑washing (the whitepaper describes smart contracts, but without addresses of protocol contracts other than the token). Double‑check: which data exchange smart contracts are actually deployed and where their addresses/interfaces are.
